What is an orangery?

Orangeries originated in 17th century country estates as a room designated to cultivating exotic citrus fruits, like a modern greenhouse, this is also as you may have guessed where they get their name from. One of the most noticeable differences between orangeries and conservatories is the roof, an orangery typically has a flat roof around the parameter of a glazed roof lantern externally and a pelmet ceiling internally. As seen here :

The base of an orangery is typically more built up than a conservatory with more substantial brick pillars/dwarf walls and less full-length windows. As shown below: 

Price:
